How to Make a Firecracker Display

Celebrate your favorite Patriotic holidays with your own Firecracker Display! Everything red, white and blue with embellished stars and stripes, this display is the perfect addition to any space this summer.
  • 1 Wipe blocks

Wipe the blocks with a damp cloth or brush to wet them.

  • 2 Add brown paint

Apply some brown paint onto a cloth and wipe it onto the wood pieces, spools and the stars. Let dry. Set aside the largest block and the spools.

  • 3 Paint stars

Paint the large star and medium block blue. Paint a large and medium block red. Let dry.

  • 4 Paint stars & stripes

Use a dry brush to paint the stars, small block and diagonal stripes onto the large red block. Sprinkle glitter on the stars and stripes while the paint is wet.

  • 5 Glue stars on blocks

Glue two stars to the medium red block and one star onto the blue block.

  • 6 Wrap jute around blocks

Wrap a section of the jute around the small white block and the large striped block. Wrap the jute around the small white block and the large striped block. Wrap the jute around the sides of the largest block and knot.

  • 7 Add rope

Cut 4 2" sections of rope. Glue one to the top center of each firecracker. Untwist the top of the rope slightly.

  • 8 Wrap spools with baker's twine

Wrap the three spools with baker's twine.

  • 9 Arrange firecrackers & spools

Arrange the firecrackers and spools onto the largest block and hot glue into place. Hot glue the large star to the front of the base to one side.
