How to Make Spring Clay Pots

Start spring planting just a little bit early by making these adorable Spring Clay Pots! Paint these pots with cheery polka dots, using your favorite spring pastels. Keep them inside as a decoration, and fill them with Easter grass, stuffed chicks and bunnies, eggs and even carrots.
  • 1 Paint pots

Use sponge brushes to paint each pot with assorted acrylic paints. It may take 2 or 3 coats to cover the pot completely. Be sure to let the paint dry completely in between each coat.

  • 2 Paint circles

Sponge circles on each pot using sponge dauber. Alternate between placing the circles on the body of the pot, or the top rim of the pot. If desired, outline the circles with another color to make them stand out. Let paint dry completely.

  • 3 Stencil letters

Secure the stencil on the pot and use a foam brush and black acrylic paint to paint on the letter. Repeat for each pot. Let dry completely.

  • 4 Add floral foam

Cut floral foam to fit pots and secure inside.

  • 5 Cover foam

Hot glue stuffed chicks, bunnies, eggs and carrots to the floral foam. Place Easter grass around the embellishments, completely covering any floral foam.
