How to Make a Celestial Shadow Box
Decorate your space with a Celestial Shadow Box! Create an out of this world scene using paint, glitter and buttons and then add moon lights to make your own special galaxy shine at night.
-
1
Paint the shadow box & stars
Paint the inside of the shadow box blue. Paint the stars and top edge of the frame gold. Let dry. Paint a second coat if needed.
-
2
Add glitter to moon
Spread a layer of Mod Podge® onto the moon. Sprinkle the outer edge with blue glitter and the rest of moon with gold glitter. Let dry. Tap off the excess glitter.
-
3
Add buttons and pearls
Arrange and glue buttons and pearls onto the moon.
-
4
Arrange the stars & moon
Arrange the stars and moon inside the box. Slide a few small spools under the moon to raise it up. Carefully remove the moon and glue the spools and stars into place.
-
5
Add the moon lights
Use an awl to poke a hole in the back of the shadow box near one of the spools. Thread the moon lights through the hole and wrap them around the spools. Tape the baterry packs to the back of the frame.

Glue the moon onto the spools.
