How to Make a Gingerbread Goodies Decor

The holidays have arrived and you can decorate for the season with a Gingerbread Goodies Banner! Create adorable gingerbread men cut outs and attach them to a festive backdrop. Once complete you can display this banner all season long on any door or wall!
  • 1 Paint the wooden poster

Paint the separated wooden poster hangers with red acrylic paint and let dry completely before lightly dry brushing white paint over the red for an antiqued look.

  • 2 Cut & attach the fabric

Cut a 13" x 14" piece of printed seasonal fabric and iron 1" hems along both of the 14" long edges to make an 11" x 14" fabric panel. Capture both 11" top and bottom ends between the magnetic poster hangers.

  • 3 Create the gingerbread men

Glue the wooden gingerbread cut outs to the tan felt and cut out all around the outside edges with an X-Acto® knife. Using the photo as a guide, draw gingerbread designs with the white Tulip® paint and make eyes with the black Tulip® paint. Glue on red rhinestones noses and red pom pom buttons.

  • 4 Create the candy circles

Glue 1" wooden circles to the printed fabric peppermint candies and cut them out.

  • 5 Attach the gingerbread men

Glue the gingerbread men onto the poster hangers. Glue on the candy covered circles.

  • 6 Create & attach the bow

Use the green ink pad to color a 1" x 16" strip of muslin and let it dry. Tie a bow and glue it onto the top poster hanger.
