  • 1 Print & cut out the templates

Print & cut out the templates.

  • 2 Pin & cut out the hats

Pin the gnome hat templates to the red felt and cut them out. Glue the back of the hats together along the seam edge.

  • 3 Cut out the gnome bodies

Pin the gnome body templates onto the charcoal felt and cut them out.

  • 4 Wrap the candlesticks

Wrap the charcoal felt around the candlesticks and glue them on at the top edge and down the back seams.

  • 5 Create the taller gnome's beard

To make the gnome's beard for the 9" candlestick, cut a 17" length of white craft fluff and fold it in half. Glue the folded end of white fluff about 1/4" below the top edge of the charcoal felt.

  • 6 Create the taller gnome's face

Separate the white fluff in half at about 1" from the top felt edge and glue a wooden bead to the charcoal felt underneath to create the gnome's nose.

  • 7 Create the taller gnome's mustache

For a mustache, cut an 11" length of white craft fluff and separate it into a thinner piece approximately one quarter of its original thickness. Fold it in half and glue it at the fold right under the bead nose.

  • 8 Repeat for the smaller gnome

Repeat steps 4, 5 and 6 using shorter lengths of white craft fluff for the 6 3/4" candlestick gnome. Use 13" for the beard and 8" for the mustache.

  • 9 Thin the beards and mustaches

Thin the beards and mustaches at the bottom edges by carefully pulling small sections down and off a little at a time. This will create a wispy look.

  • 10 Adjust the shape of the hats

Glue two chenille stems inside each red hat, running up the full length of the hat one on each side. After the glue dries, the hats can be twisted or scrunched and will hold their shape.

  • 11 Cut & attach holly leaves

Cut out the green felt holly leaves and add three red pom poms for the berries. Glue them onto the front of the gnome's hats. Put the hats onto the gnomes, pulling them down to cover the tops of their noses.
