How to Make Spring Teacup Nests

Spring is the perfect time for a tea party! Grab decorative teacups from your local Pat Catan's and create a springtime scene complete with a butterfly, eggs and flowers inside each teacup.
  • 1 Paint a sheet of cardstock

Paint the stencil design onto a sheet of cardstock using a foam pouncer and a small amount of paint. Set aside.

  • 2 Add moss

Arrange and glue some moss into each cup.

  • 3 Add moss & wool beads

Trim the twigs on the nests. Glue some moss and wool beads into the nests.

  • 4 Decorate the cup

Tuck a doily into each cup, add the nest on top of the doily. Glue a butterfly onto one side of the nest or the rim of the cup. Arrange and glue several flowers into the cup.

  • 5 Cut & ink cardstock strips

Cut the stenciled cardstock into 1/2" x 3" strips. Use a foam pouncer to ink the backs and edges of the strips with both ink colors.

  • 6 Attach alphabet stickers

Use the tweezers to attach alphabet stickers to the strips spelling out "Spring."

  • 7 Roll & arrange the strips

Roll the ends of the strips, each in opposite directions. Using the photo as a guide, arrange them inside the cup and glue into place.
