How to Make a Blooming Drawer Centerpiece

This Blooming Drawer Centerpiece, Courtesy of EnWreathed, will look beautiful on any tabletop with its rustic feel and bright springtime flowers! Use roses, stem wildflowers and bushes to bring this display piece to life.
  • 1 Protect work area

Protect working area. Hot glue may drip and the reindeer moss will shed. Plug in the glue gun to allow the unit to heat and for it to be available in the following steps.

  • 2 Prepare all greenery

Using wire cutters, carefully cut all greenery and flowers at least 2-3 inches from the base and set aside. These will be used later in the arrangement. The stems are wired so extra pressure may be necessary to cut through.

  • 3 Add foam to drawer

Using the glue gun, apply hot glue to the width side of the green foam squares and place next to each other in the wooden drawer. Foam may need to be trimmed slightly to fit properly. A box cutter or sharp knife works best.

  • 4 Add orange flowers

Insert one stem of the orange flowers into the foam base with placement at all four corners. Place each approximately 1 inch in. Add one flower into the center of the base. This will begin the pattern for the arrangement.

  • 5 Add pink flowers

Insert 1 stem of the pink flowers into the foam base next to the orange flowers as previously done in step 4.

  • 6 Add blue flowers

Insert 1 stem of the blue flowers into the foam base next to the orange and pink flowers as previously done in step 4.

  • 7 Embellish flowers

The flower stems can be slightly bent down to give the appearance of natural looking buds. Bend the flowers as you would find in nature.

  • 8 Add white rose buds

Begin adding the white rose buds throughout the arrangement. Allow the buds to fall off to the side of the drawer.

  • 9 Add greenery

Insert greenery throughout the arrangement. Add the taller stems in the center and the shorter branches inserted along the perimeter. Add additional greenery and allow the pieces to cascade beyond the drawer.

  • 10 Add reindeer moss

Glue the reindeer moss to the foam where open spaces exist amongst the flowers. Allow the moss to drape beyond the drawer.
