How to Make a Paper Butterfly Wreath

Decorate for Spring with a beautiful Paper Butterfly Wreath! Create butterflies out of pastel colored die cuts and paper and hang the wreath in your favorite space all season long.
  • 1 Paint the hoop

    Tighten the outer hoop and paint the hoop tan. Set aside to dry.

  • 2 Die cut eight butterflies

    Die cut eight of each butterfly from both the silver and gold vellum and set asside.

  • 3 Die cut six butterflies

    Die cut six of each butterfly from the white, soft yellow, light pink, light gray, light blue and light green cardstock.

  • 4 Fold, stack & attach the butterflies

    Use a bone folder to bend the wings up on the butterflies. Sort the three styles of butterflies and then stack and glue sets of 3 together with a vellum butterfuly on top of each.

  • 5 Add silver glitter glue

    Add silver glitter glue onto the bodies. Let dry.

  • 6 Arrange the butterflies on the hoop

    Using the photo as a guide, arrange the butterflies onto the hoop with foam adhesive dots. Stack the dots on some of the butterflies to create more depth. When the design is complete, hot glue to secure everything into place.

  • 7 Cut & attach ribbon

    Cut a 12" length of ribbon and tie it around the screw at the top of the hoop and knot for hanging.
