How to Make a Chunky Glitter Star

Add some sparkle to your holiday décor with a Chunky Glitter Star! Paint the star, add sequins and glitter and then watch it shimmer as it hangs next to your tree, above your fireplace or on any favorite wall space.
  • 1 Lay out the star

Lay the two laser cut stars on top of each other so the top star is centered. Use a sharp pencil to trace around the outside and inside design edges. Separate the two stars.

  • 2 Paint the top star

Paint the top filigree star surface with silver paint. Let dry.

  • 3 Paint the bottom star

Using the photo as a guide, paint the bottom star's pencil drawn shapes with the different blue acrylic paints. Let dry.

  • 4 Add the sequins & glitter

To keep the Mod Podge® from drying too fast, apply a generous layer to a small section of the silver star using a sponge dauber. Add the silver sequins onto the wet surface, then sprinkle the extra fine glitter on top of the sequins. Tap off any excess. Repeat on another small section until the entire star has been covered in sequins and glitter. Let dry.

  • 5 Finish the star

Line up the sequined star with the painted blue pattern on the other star and glue in place.
