How to Make an Italian Chef

Make your own Italian Chef to help you cook your favorite Italian dishes! An easy DIY for any age, an Italian Chef is a fun project for kids to make with the help of felt, chenille stems and a few other basic craft supplies.
  • 1 Paint clothespins

Paint the front of the clothespins green and the 2 wood circles flesh tone. Let dry.

  • 2 Create head

To create the head, glue the small circle to the large circle. Glue the large circle to the clothespin.

  • 3 Make hat

Referring to the photo, cut the pieces for the hat out of white felt. Glue the brim to the hat and then to the head.

  • 4 Glue black bump

Glue a 1" black chenille bump to the bottom of the small wood circle. Glue the wiggle eyes about the small wood circle.

  • 5 Add bandana

Cut the bandana out of red felt and glue below the head.

  • 6 Make apron

For the apron, cut a 3" x 4.5" piece of white felt. Fold it over ½" on the narrow end and glue down. Glue the apron to the front of the clothespin.

  • 7 Finish the chef

Cut a 9" piece of chenille stem and slide it through the spring on the clothespin.
