Red Cardstock
Green Chenille Stem
Black .5" Pom
Pencil
Quick Grab Tacky Glue
Scissors

How to Make a Veterans Poppy

Craft a poppy in honor of Veterans Day! This simple yet beautiful craft is a fun DIY that will mean the most to someone special in your life that has served in the Armed Forces.
  • 1 Cut squares

    Cut a 3.5" and a 3" square from the cardstock.

  • 2 Draw a circle

    Lightly draw a circle on each square.

  • 3 Tear out the circles

    Tear out the circle (it will be rough around the edges).

  • 4 Crumple the circles

    Crumple each of the circles in your hand and open up.

  • 5 Glue the circles

    Glue the smaller circle onto the larger circle.

  • 6 Create the poppy's stem

    Coil the end of the chenille stem 3-4 times and bend the stem over the coil. Glue the coil to the back of the paper flower.

  • 7 Add a pom

    Glue a pom into the center of the flower.
