How to Make a Paper Cake

Celebrate Valentine's Day, a birthday, anniversary and more with a Paper Cake! Use a Cricut Maker and cardstock to create a decorative 8-slice cake complete with paper frosting, a red rose and a place to keep a real treat!
  • 1 Cut out the cake

Using the "Sweet Tooth" digital cartridge on your Cricut Maker, cut out the top, bottom and frosting layers of the cake.

  • 2 Create the rose & the leaf

Using 3D Flowers on your Cricut Maker, cut out a rose and a leaf.

  • 3 Emboss

Before assembling the pieces of cake, emboss both the top of the cake and the layers of frosting.

  • 4 Create the cake

Fold the pieces of the cake on the scoring marks and glue together.

  • 5 Attach the frosting

Glue the frosting layers onto each side of the piece of cake.

  • 6 Attach the rose & the leaf

Glue the rolled paper rose and the leaf to the top of the cake.

  • 7 Fill with candy

Open up each slice of cake and fill with candy for a real treat!
